Updates

So I guess I should be doing some updating as I seem to post many pictures. We are all doing well. Ryan is busy with work, rentals and the farm. We are currently getting ready to ship 8 heifiers to Lethbridge for breeding. A farmer out there likes our cows and this will be the third year that we will send him some. Matthew is quite the 2 1/2 year old. Talking up a storm and surprising us as to how much he understands. He is ready for pre-school soon. Jordyn is very different than Matthew. She is wiggly, rolling over, eating her feet. I swear she will be crawling soon. As for me, I have joined LAs weightloss and lost 6 pounds in a week and a half. It is great. The diet is easy to stick to and I am not even missing pasta, rice, or potato's. Okay, maybe the pasta, and desserts, but it is worth it. I am also renovating a rental house which should be done by the end of the week. Thanks to shirley for helping me out. I am also at the gym lots, minus last week as mom was out and I was painting a house. Other than that nothing is new. Our flights are booked for MB and we will be out there from the 17th to the 30th. Not really looking forward to the cold. So now I will post some pictures of the past few weeks. The pictures of me and ryan with the toques on say vegemite which is a spread from Australia. Thanks to Matt's mom for the toques. I think they are great.

She rolls

After her chiropractor appointment 1 month ago, she started to do so rolling over. She is quite proud of herself and now is trying to get her legs under her bum. Not a newborn anymore. After her second round of immunization shots, the public health nurse said she acts more like a 6 month old than an almost 4 month old. I am proud of my little girl.

Quiet Afternoon

Finally, both kids in bed, sleeping. The house is quiet. I can do what I please as long as I am quiet too. Normally that means hanging out on the computer, laundry, supper plans, cleaning, etc. I finally learned how to use all the cardio machines at the gym and am loving it. Today, Sherri (she does the bike class), stopped me in the hall and asked why I wasn't in class today. I just felt like a cardio work out. 1 hr of hard core cardio. 30 on the bike (almost 10 miles and many calories burned) and 30 minutes on the step, but it is like running (1 1/2 miles there with many more calories burned). I am tired and refreshed at the same time. It is time to lose that 20 - 30 pounds that I feel need to go, so onward with my work-out and now onto the diet plan. Yes, diet. I am off to LA Weight loss to see what they are about. I need someone making sure I am eating right, at the right time and I want results. The lumps must go. Okay, now I am sounding vain, but I am just missing my pre-wedding weight. That 26 inch waist is no longer there and I want it back. So we shall see. I will keep you posted as to what I am going to do, but for now, yeah for cardio. I can't wait to get back to the gym tomorrow. My last post I tried to post pictures, so I am adding more on today.

This, that, and everything else.

So it has been awhile since I have posted anything. I seem to spend more time on Facebook and post way more pictures there, so I will have to say, my posts may be fewer and farther between as I prefer facebook. Let me update you as to what has been happening. Ryan is currently on paternity leave from Neova. Big change, but he isn't here at home if that is what you are thinking. His older employer made him an offer that was hard to refuse and for the next 6 months he will be working for Bert's electric. We don't see him as much and I deal with the kids more than I normally do, but that is okay. I get out every morning to the gym 4 days a week and to women's break one day a week. I get an hour or two to myself with no kids and a work-out and talking with other mom's or doing a bible study. I do enjoy my mornings, but really hate getting out of bed. And I used to be such a morning person. The lots that we had for sale on FairField Island are finally all sold. One less headache on many heads. Thank goodness. Now on to the kids. Matthew is growing up so fast. He talks all day long, is trying to cut out his naps which drives me nuts. He can count, knows all the colors, and we are trying to teach him songs and the alphabet, but those ones are a bit of a challenge. This year he is finally able to go to Sunday School and loves it. Grandma Nettie and Grandma Helen teach it and they are wonderful with children. I then send Ryan to Sunday school while Jordyn and I chat it up in the nursery with Cheryl and any other mom that would be in there. I do like that hour in the nursery. While I am at the gym he gets to go to play care and hangs out with lots of other kids. He loves it there and hates it when I say time to go. He also loves blonde little girls, or the blonde care workers. So cute. Now Jordyn. The little princess, well, what can I say, she is 3 months old, rolling over, smiling, talking and today I even got her giggling. Wish I got that on the camera. She is my social butterfly and loves to give smiles to anyone that will talk to her. She has decided that she doesn't like nursing and prefers the bottle and formula, which is fine by me. She is a much happier child on it. So I am weening her off. I am not going to do both. Well, that is our life in a nut shell right now. We are now thinking of Christmas and heading back to MB. It will be cold, but hey, you can't beat a cold night with a fire burning, a good movie, hot chocolate and your family around to talk to. Can't wait to go home.

Green is the way to go

So after reading my cousin Leanne's post, I decided that we need to get some things straight. Red is not the best, green is. Although, dad has currently bought this huge big red tractor. I will always remember the fights, red vs green. I must say, when shopping for fabric, you can always find something john deere. They even have pink fabric with little green tractors. Almost bought some for Jordyn and the realized, what would I use it for. The kid has enough blankets and well, she doesn't have her own room yet, so she doesn't need curtains, but maybe some day. So I ask you Leanne, can you find fabric with red tractors on it? All in good fun and I leave you with a picture the the true color of tractors. Good old John Deere.

For you Jocelyn. He He He.

I am proud of my sister. She is a wonderful person and a great photographer. These are my all time favorite. Hope she doesn't mind that I posted them.

Ryan and Matthew at the spiral tunnels. FYI, don't stop, you can't see anything. The trees block the view.

Jordyn got this as a gift from Aunty Dianne, but Matthew wanted to wear it. Brittany finally got it off of him. I probably need to find him a vest to wear as well.

Boy does time fly

Well, we are finally home from our trip to MB and it was great. Seeing family and friends. It is also nice to return home. Here are some pictures from our trip.

The start of our trip at 4:30 am. Matthew decided not to go back to sleep.

As soon as we arrived at my parents house, Matthew discovered the tonka toys. Brittany is in the back ground. (my brother's girlfriend)

Jocelyn (my sister) and Jordyn reading. Jordy loves black and white anything.

Jeremy (my brother) and Matthew playing on the quad. We finally got him to go on it this year without crying, Matthew that is, not Jeremy. :) He is growing up.

Dad and Jordyn. So proud.

A Cute Story

So I was cleaning house a few days ago, Matthew is playing outside after his nap enjoying one of the few nice hot days of this summer. He all of a sudden comes into the house and passes me his underwear. Not really thinking this is anything new, he does prefer to be naked and is not embarrassed by it, I just take them and let him go play outside again. I look out the door a few minutes later and see the dogs looking and sniffing at some brown plops on the grass. Realizing that this is poo, I am Matthew if he pooed. Honest child that he is said yes and kindly told me that the dogs were eating it. I then realize that he brought me his underwear because he had to poo and didn't want to clean them. Since he refuses to poo on the potty, we make him clean his underwear out. Disgusting, yes, but maybe this will work.

6 weeks old

So my baby is now 6 weeks old, weighing in at a heifty 10 pounds. What a good little eater. My toddler is still 2 1/2 and I am not loving every minute of it. The boy currently has some nasty green snot coming out of his nose. Why are all the kids in the nursery sick right now? Something must be going around. My week is always super busy, going here, going there. We have a wedding on Saturday in the afternoon and evening and then on Sunday some of us girls may be heading to IKEA and Old Navy. I finally got Jordy's birth certificate in the mail after the screw up that I made on it. Boy, don't do things when you are really tired. I am trying to potty train matthew and he no longer wears any diapers. We are pretty good with the pee, but the poo still happens in the pants. If anyone has any suggestions about what to do about this, I am all ears. Cleaning poo out of big boy underwear is disgusting. I want to throw up. Well, that is all that I know as of this moment, and will be heading to MB beginning of September.

Sorry no pictures this time. J. jaundice is doing well and the click in her hip is gone. No more double diapering and less doctor appointments.

My Sleeping Babies

So this is what my afternoons are like. Both babies sleeping soundly and I get to clean house, talk on the phone or play on the computer. It is nice to have a quiet house. I was at the doctors today and J. jaundice is down. Not where it should be, but my doctor said it is breast feed jaundice and it will just take awhile to go down. So no more doctors appointments for that. Starting tomorrow we are dealing with her click in her hip. Matthew is still on antibiotics and will be done them on Sunday and then we have to do another urine test. So much fun. Other than that, nothing is new here. Hope all is well with you.

A week in the life of me

Well, what can I say. 2 kids keeps me busy and out of trouble. I seem to try to do all my errands in the morning so that I can stay home in the afternoon. I try to be out of the house by 9 am, but it seems more like 10 am before I am out the door. Oh well. We are still weekly at the doctors for Jordy's jaundice which is slowly going away and now next week we will be starting on the click in her hip. Hopefully that has healed and she will not have to be double diapered anymore. Matthew still has an infection and hopefully the antibiotics work this time. She gave us different ones to try. I have been going to the chiropractor for the past two weeks 3 times a week. It gets to be a bit much, but my back and shoulders are feeling much better. I thought I was out, but not by that much. Thank goodness for health benefits. The weather hasn't been that great yet. We had one nice week the week Jordy was born and then this week has been sunny but not super hot. It looks like we are not going to get a super hot summer and I am okay with that.

Life with 2 kids

Well, we have had an extremely busy month with our new arrival. I couldn't have asked for a better baby. She sleeps 5 and 4 hours at night most nights, so she is only really up twice. The only peep we hear out of her is when she is hungry or has a burp/fart/poop. She isn't very good at passing the last few. As most of you know we have been at the doctors every week dealing with Matthews infection. Latest results were not in on Friday, so this coming Friday they should be in. Jordyn is still fighting jaundice. She is under the 205 mark and currently standing at 160, but at one month she should be below 25 and well, that is only less than two weeks away. It hasn't been really sunny so she hasn't been exposed to that much sun as she should be. So at least for the next two to three weeks we will be at the doctors and she will be at the BC Biomedical lab for tests. Annoying yes, but hopefully this clears up soon. Then on the 3rd of August we are off to the pediatrician to get her click in the hip looked at. Hopefully he says she is in the clear and I can stop double diapering her. It is a tad annoying, especially at 3 in the morning. I have her all ready to feed only to realize I forgot the second diaper and have to redo everything. Not thinking to clearly at 3 in the morning. Matthew is a bit out of sorts lately dealing with the twos, the infection and I just found out yesterday that he is starting to cut his two year molars which would explain a lot of his crankiness these past few weeks. Ryan is busy with work and everything else that needs to be done. I am of course busy with the kids, but able to keep up, get sleep and still have a clean house. How is it that I find it much easier to deal with the house with 2 kids than with one. I don't understand. I am happy to report that I have lost most of the baby weight and finding my jeans are a little on the large size. Yeah for breast feeding. Now I am just going to have to keep it off. That is the hard part. :)

Jordyn and Matthew

So we are now going on almost two weeks since Jordyn entered into our lives. She is a great baby. I thought Matthew was easy, but she is a breeze. Only fussy when she is hungry and boy does she let you know. I am blessed to have two wonderful children. It has been a major adjustment having two kids. It is not so easy getting out the door, timing things right so Jordyn doesn't need to be fed if we are out and about. We have had many doctors appointments to deal with Jaundice and Matthew's infection that won't go away. Next month Jordyn will be seeing the pediatrician for the click in her hip. Until then, she is double diapered. Other than that, we are great. Here are some updated pictures of the kids and I will try to blog more often, but if you want to see newer pictures, find me on facebook. I post more often there for Jocelyn.
