Last night, we finally celebrated Matthew's birthday with the Cooke family. (Friesen family was done in Manitoba at the beginning of the month.) I borrowed a train cake pan from Naomi and then iced and decorated it to look like a train. This was my first try at cake decorating, so I am not to happy with it, but hopefully with practice it will look better. I believe Matthew finally understands what presents are for because as soon as one entered the room he headed straight for it and opened it. Needless to say, I had to re wrap some quickly. It was a good evening full of cake and putting together his Tommy Trains as he calls them. (Thomas the Train). He received two more sets from Grandma and Grandpa and I am not sure who had more fun putting them together, Ryan or Shirley. All I can say is, headache city here I come. They are noisy and the little beads that are supposed to be coal, or mail, are all over the house. I wish that I had a basement to put all of these noisy toys in.
